Beach Of Silent Silhouette.

2014 was a very important year for Hardjo and his friends. At that time, along with the communities around the south coast, Hardjo began to struggle to build a national and even world class tourist ecosystem.

Testimony of Local Residents

The morning was still half naked when we visited this beach. The only life that could be felt was the howl of the waves that were muttering, like not caring, even though the night hadn’t really finished packing.

This beach is indeed very enticing our curiosity after out there circulating information about the pros and cons of developing forest areas into tourism in this village. In the past, in the New Order era, forests were only capitalized by a handful of interests.

The struggle of Hardjo and his colleagues were not immediately smooth even though the New Order era had fallen since 1998. One of the cases that had strengthened was the use of social forest rights based on the Decree of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, which continues to the right to tourist ticket income.

In fact, this income is expected to be able to improve the welfare of the surrounding community as well as part of the community’s independence efforts to develop tourist attractions in the area. After going through various mediations, even this conflict was finally muted.

To be popular since local youth initiative to build a tourism ecosystem. This exotic beach is a proof of local wisdom about nature and culture. With their own hands and sweat, this beach was born from the womb of independence. Naturally it’s called the silent silhouette.

Hard struggle has never betrayed the results. Now, they have had the coveted tourism ecosystem since 5 years ago. An exotic beach area is embraced by a stretch of tropical forest. Now, it is their duty to look after them as hard as they have in the past.

Like the waves of the southern sea, they might just froth. Who crashed where the wave was pulling. Like shadows, they are never seen but light always guides them wherever they go. (words by Mokshfeast Discover Team)
